Commonwealth Home Support Promgramme
As we age, everyday tasks may become a little harder, friendship circles may change and it can be difficult to find activities to attend to meet new people. At Lonsdale House we are able to offer very supportive services that are tailored to meet your needs, this may provide you with the opportunity to reconnect in your local community, make new friends and even have a little bit of assistance to keep you living in your own home.

“Funded by the Australian Government Department of Health”, The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) is the entry level tier of the aged care system offering greater choice and more flexibility to older people. The CHSP aims to support frail, older people aged 65 years and over (50 and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) to live as independently as possible in their own home and community for as long as they can and wish to do so.

Hervey Bay Day Care & Respite Centre Inc may also be able to work closely with your Home Care Provider if you are on a Home Care Package to work out a support schedule that meets your needs. Lonsdale House recognises the value that our mature clients still have to offer.
